why: delivery of last mile wireless broadband access as an alternative to cable and DSL.

Came across WiMAX and related stuff because I am shifting from my old VoIP project to newer long range wireless MAC thing..


First thing what i noticed about WiMAX is that, its very much similar to GSM time slots and framing.
Also, works in 10 to 66 GHz unlicensed band.
Some seniors informed me that, WiMAX enabled devices has been launched in Q1 of 2006.
So WiMAX is happening.
